Facade inspections

Our Practices / Facade inspections

Ensuring facade safety and compliance

Periodic facade inspections help assess the condition of building facades, identify signs of deterioration and reduce risks to occupants and the public. Partie 5 conducts thorough inspections to meet regulatory requirements and help prioritize the necessary corrective measures.

Partie 5 performs facade inspections in accordance with the requirements of Québec's Bill 122 and the recommendations outlined in the Guide explicatif des exigences d'entretien des façades published by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ). Our inspections also follow the Programme d'accompagnement pour l'inspection et l'entretien préventif des façades (PIEF), developed jointly with the Ordre des architectes du Québec (OAQ), and a methodology inspired by ASTM E2270, Standard Practice for Periodic Inspection of Building Facades for Unsafe Conditions.

When site conditions require it, our inspections can be carried out using rope access techniques. This approach allows for close-up examination of building facades, even where the use of aerial access equipment is limited or impractical. Our team includes a SPRAT-certified architect (Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians), providing specialized expertise for inspections performed at height.

This approach enables building owners and property managers to meet their regulatory obligations, identify priority repairs early and preserve the safety, performance and long-term durability of their building assets.
