Optimizing the energy performance of the building envelope

The requirements of the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) have a direct impact on building envelope design. Partie 5 supports project teams in evaluating the thermal performance of envelope systems to balance energy efficiency, regulatory compliance and design quality.

Partie 5 helps design professionals apply the requirements of the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) by leveraging its expertise in building science and building envelope thermal performance.

Our services include code compliance reviews of drawings and specifications, technical support in preparing project specifications during the early design stages, and numerical simulations to evaluate the effective thermal resistance of building envelope assemblies and complex construction details. These analyses are performed using specialized software such as THERM and HEAT3.

By integrating these analyses early in the design process, project teams can optimize technical decisions, minimize compromises during construction and achieve the project's energy performance objectives.
